Come join a study opportunity at Druid Hills United Methodist Church! Classes meet at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, and other groups meet through the week. We invite you to choose a class or group that best suits you and your longings for growth!
Discovery
Purpose: The discovery class seeks to wrestle with questions about our individual and collective faith journeys.
Teachers: Dan Browning and other class members
Coordinator: Janie Alexander
Charism (Special Gifts): Discovery is distinguished by openness, both to its members and to the issues we consider. We continue to ask questions and take risks; we are never satisfied with standard spoon-fed answers; we seek new and newly invigorated ways to encounter the sacred; and we do so in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Location: Fellowship Hall (ground level)
Crossroads of Faith Mini-Series
Druid Hills sponsors a selection of mini-series each year, known as “Crossroads of Faith.” These are planned according to requests, concerns, needs, and visions that are stirring among our people (members, visitors, and local community folk). Recent topics have included:
- Intentional Lent
- God and Politics - Study of Jim Wallis’s God’s Politics
- Self-Reflection through the Enneagram
- Interfaith Relations - study of Marjorie Suchocki’s Divinity and Diversity
- Middle East Peace - study of Jimmy Carter’s Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid
- Faith through Music - study of Don and Emily Saliers’ A Song to Sing, A Life to Live: Reflections on Music
- Simply Wonder - Alternate Christmas study
- Loving the Earth
Wednesday Night Events
Purpose: Several times a year, Druid Hills sponsors special events for fellowship and learning.
Sponsors: Outreach and other leadership teams plan these events, inviting guests and church members to share their perspectives and expertise on critical issues of faith and public life.
