InTown Collaborative Ministries & Food Pantry
INTOWN COLLABORATIVE MINISTRIES
When the Intown Community Assistance Center (ICA) closed, a new ministry was born: Intown Collaborative Ministries. Many churches along the Ponce corridor will now be involved in providing goods and services for our less fortunate neighbors.
We are the home of the new ICM emergency needs food pantry.
About ICM and the Food Pantry
The InTown Collaborative Ministries Emergency Needs Food Pantry is a ministry cooperative of congregations in zip codes 30306 and 30307 intended to help alleviate hunger by providing nutritious food and social service information to those who need them. We also strive to give people opportunities for personal and spiritual growth through meaningful service.
The pantry is located at Druid Hills United Methodist Church, 1200 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. We gratefully accept food donations. Donations may be dropped off at the church office Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 3:30pm. To contact the office, call 404-377-6481, or e-mail info@druidhillsumc.org. Financial donations are also welcome to help purchase food.
The pantry officially opened on March 20, 2010. It will be open every Saturday to guests from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Guests are referred to the pantry by appointment by the pantry’s supporting churches. Elderly and handicapped guests who are not able to come to the pantry can have food delivered. Walk-in guests will be served after our guests with appointment if additional food is available.
The food pantry has its own website, http://dhfoodpantry.wordpress.com/, click to visit. This site will list what items are currently most needed.
We have baskets in the education building hallway and Narthex for collection of food.
