The Purpose of United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is:

• To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
• To develop a creative supportive fellowship and
• To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

Mission Studies motivate, inform, and enrich our commitment to global ministry.

2011 Studies are:
• Geographic Study: Haiti
• Spiritual Growth Study: Coming Out on the Side of Grace: Reconciliation
• Topical Study: Joy to the World!: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity

Budget

Through pledges and fundraisers, Druid Hills UMW supports national and international missions focused on women and children. Local missions include:

• United Methodist Children’s Home
• Murphy-Harpst Home
• Wesley Community Centers
• Church Women United
• Food Pantry
